DESCRIPTION:Do you have a story to tell?In this interactive\, two-hour masterclass\, you will learn the elements of a good story and an approach to preparing it for the stage. \nInspired by the style of The Moth\, this interactive workshop introduces the art and craft of personal storytelling. Participants will explore what makes a story compelling\, how to shape and refine a true story\, and how to deliver it with confidence and authenticity. We’ll cover where great story ideas come from\, techniques for editing and tightening your narrative\, and practical strategies for managing nerves and stage fright. \nBy the end of the class\, students will leave with the tools\, structure\, and confidence to craft a polished story on their own—whether for the stage\, the page\, or personal expression. \nWhat to expect: \n\nAn overview of the essential components of a great story\nTechniques for shaping\, refining\, and delivering personal narratives\nTips for finding story ideas in everyday life\nStrategies for handling stage fright and performance anxiety\nParticipant interaction\, including Q&A\nA take-home handout summarizing key concepts and tools\n\nWhat to bring:Story ideas (no writing or performance experience required). \nAges: Teens & Adults \nInstructor Bio\nCatherine Weber is a three-time Moth StorySLAM champion\, poet\, artist\, community organizer\, and marketing executive with a lifelong passion for the arts\, education\, and the environment.
